The Thinking Differently Project is a 3 year initiative designed to encourage young people to take up photography.
In November 2013, MTGP was approached by the Thinking Differently project whilst MTGP was within Halfway, Cambuslang and asked to encourage MTGP attendees to participate in the project as they were having difficulties attracting their target group.
Following discussions with MTGP’s coaches, several attendees took part in an initial photography program with many MTGP attendees still participating over 18 months later.
‘E’ is a regular MTGP attendee when it is in the Halfway of Cambuslang and she agreed to take part although she did not have any interest in photography at the time.
Despite her initial reservations, ‘E’ developed a love for photography and became a regular attendee.
‘E’ says….
‘I love the time we go to Moving the Goalposts. I’ve been coming since I was 9.
My mum also loves it as she knows where I am. She comes round to Moving the Goalposts a lot to watch us playing and to chat with the other parents.
If it wasn’t for Moving the Goalposts I would not have got into photography. I absolutely love it.
Tony (Head Coach) from Moving the Goalposts gives me a brand new football every year on my birthday and we all use it when Moving the Goalposts has to leave our area.
I am 15 now and we have got to know the coaches over the years. This is the best thing we have ever had as they look after us and care about us. I am glad they come here, it’s the highlight of the year’. ‘E’ (15)
